Set of Two Cute Vintage Rectangular Casserole Dishes, in White Milk Glass with Printed Patterns.
Manufacturer: This type of ovenware made of glass was a line of heat resistant oven/baking/serving ware developed in the early 1900s by the McKee Glass Company. It was originally known as Glasbak Ware. These two items were manufactured under the Glasbake name, by Jeanette Glass Company, who took over the Glasbak company in the 1960s, producing items through 1983. Note: These are denoted with a "J" before the style number so you know these were produced by Jeanette Glass.
Size of both dishes: 10.25 inches long (includes handles) by 5.25 inches wide by 3 inches tall.
Condition of Blue Clovers/Blue Clover Leaves Dish: Excellent for age. A few small interior chips on inner lip on one side only. New Condition--never used--no food stains. Color is bright white. A few small horizontal marbling lines typical of milk glass on interior base. Printed on both long sides. No scratches on printing. Printed on bottom: Glasbake J522 1 1/2 QT U.S.
Condition of Vegetables Dish: Good for age. This item has been used and has some browning along interior and exterior ridge lines of the top perimeter. The color has become off white from baking. A few small chips along outer edge, mostly on handles. A small amount of the printed area is missing from both sides, (possibly where it was stacked with another, or scratched off). Raised printing on base reads: Glasbake 14 J522 1 1/2 QT U.S.A. Vegetables featured are beets, lettuce, peppers, tomatoes, carrots, peas, lima beans, various herbs, and an orange and a green mushroom (!?).
Care: Hand Wash with soft cloth only to preserve printed sides. Do not stack.
