Vibrant and Energetic Set of Two Roldan Spanish Flamenco Dancer Doll 1950s

A Beautiful Pair of Flamenco Dancer Dolls made in the 1950s from the Roldan Company.

They produced tourist dolls with distinctive arched eyebrows, high cheekbones, and extremely detailed clothing and accessories from the 1950s -1960s. Many of these dolls were shipped to the U.S. or they were sold in Barcelona and Spain at the time. These are poseable dolls, and made of felt, wire, real fabric like spanish lace and satin, sequins, shiny ribbon and braided fabric.

This pair has so many details like heels in the bottom of their shoes. They are felt over a wire armature which allows some pose-ability and a hand-painted mask face with exaggerated features and mohair wigs for lifelike hair. The hair styling is detailed, as is the makeup and coloring. His felted vest has sequin "buttons" and his bolero jacket has briaded detail. His hair is wavy and styled. Her satin dress has two layers finished with Spanish Lace, over a cotton slip with lace edging. Her undershirt has ruffle detail, and her bolero jacket has the same braided detail. Her black mesh veil is covered with rose pom poms, and her hair is pulled up with a tall comb. Her waist ribbon is a shiny green sash, his is a soft peach/red color. Both dolls have hand painted blue eyes with black features eyebrows, eyes.

Condition: Very Good to Excellent. Her: A few fade/discolorations marks on her rose colored satin dress, otherwise excellent. HIm: a slight dust mark on one sideburn, otherwise excellent. His hat has come loose a little bit on top of head.
Both dolls have the sewn on Roldan Original Tag which reads: Roldan Barcelona-Espana.

Size: Bothdolls are approximately 11" inches tall from head to toe.
