Very fashionable doll from the 1940s with a full skirt and shawl, contrast ribbon detail for hair accessory.

Description: Bisque body, legs and head are connected, jointed plastic arms and frozen bisque legs. Black shoes are painted on. Sleepy eyes are open, but do not close. The eyes are a dark blue. Painted eyebrows, eyelashes and mouth and rosy cheeks. Elastic joints are still working in head (turns) and arms (move). She can stand on her own but would be better displayed with a stand.

Age: Best Guess 1940s.

Height: 7.5 inches tall (includes hair). Width: 2.5 inches wide.

Skirt: Plaid taffeta in a full circle, attached at doll waist with a glued on ribbon underneath shawl. The hem of skirt is finished with a machine stitch cream embroidery ribbon. Shawl is mohair and is stapled on lower center back. Undergarment consists of stiff blue mesh attached under skirt. Green taffeta ribbon is used as an accent around front of shawland is attached with a staple in lower center front. Her woven hair ribbon is stapled to the hair/head. Her blonde hair is fashioned in a 1940s style wave--gorgeous. The hair is very soft.

Condition: Very good. Eyes do not close, painted black shoes have a few unpainted areas on front & bottoms, hair has come unglued on right hand side of ear. Mold markings are visible on each ear and on each arm bottom. Color of fabric is very bright--no sun damage or fading. This doll is in wonderful condition for her approximately 70 year age! She must have been treated as a "collectible".
